Ports and logistics
Blind-zone detection for material handling equipment, PPE compliance at gates, and breach detection across yards, bays and warehouses.

A port or logistics yard runs on material handling equipment moving in tight, congested lanes: forklifts, reach stackers, tuggers and cranes sharing the same bay as people on foot, often with limited sightlines from the cab. Industry data attributes the majority of incidents to exactly this kind of contact between employees and moving equipment.
VICAS™ gives that equipment blind-zone coverage and gives the yard PPE and breach detection at every gate, so a converging path or a non-compliant entry is caught and logged in the moment rather than found afterward in an incident report.
What it detects
PPE compliance at gates and bays
Hard hat and high-visibility vest compliance is checked automatically wherever people move through a gate or work near tankers and equipment. A worker without a hard hat is flagged on the spot.
Multi-person detection at plant and yard entry
Every person crossing into an active work area is detected and boxed individually, with hard hat status checked for each one, so a worker entering without a helmet is flagged even in a group.
Pedestrian detection in MHE aisles
Workers on foot in a warehouse aisle are detected with a confidence score while an approaching forklift is tracked with its danger zone marked on the floor, so a converging path is caught early.
Loading and unloading zone detection
Workers around a loading dock are detected individually while a forklift unloads a container, and anyone standing inside the marked exclusion zone is flagged as a zone breach.
From live deployments
Impact on the operation
Stat figures are published industry benchmarks for AI-based visual inspection, not measured results from this specific line.
Share of fatal forklift incidents that are pedestrian-vehicle collisions, the leading cause of severe port and yard injuries
PPE compliance improvement one facility achieved within three months of deploying AI-based detection at gates and entry points
Reduction in no-stop incidents at aisle ends one facility achieved within three months of deploying continuous MHE detection
Forklift-related worker fatalities recorded in US workplaces in a single year, the risk MHE blind-zone coverage targets
